Just a little special lighting and anyone can look beautiful! Once I knew I was ready to begin carving this year's pumpkin, I had to give one more still life a try. This last one turned out to be my favorite. I often spend my mornings running around inside the Chatette with my camera in the dark. I've found that even in the dark-some shots are magical without any flash at all. Because I'm such an early bird, morning really is my best time of day. I'll unveil our 2009 Jack-o-Lantern-or maybe a Jill in tomorrow's post.
I promise, after today no more shots of me in my overalls in the Grand Canyon...even I'm getting tired of it. After checking in to the Bright Angel Lodge for a couple of nights, I decided to head over to the bar and have a beer before I went to bed for the evening. I knew I'd sleep well with all that driving under my belt, and a beer would send me on my way. While I was sitting at the bar a handsome, clean shaven, blue-eyed, man in jeans and a workshirt came in and sat beside me. He was a log cabin builder in California. He looked loaded already, but once we got to talking I discovered that Rick had driven his BMW motorcycle from California to the Canyon that day. A friend of his was meeting him in the Canyon the following night, so we decided it might be fun to do some hiking together the following day while he waited for his friend to arrive. This one wasn't falling in love, but once Steve arrived, the two of them had me laughing all the way. Happy Friday!
in any case, beautiful photos, and today it is a shame that you are not on facebook and have followed a thread from yesterday about my thoughts on me being a weird guy in overalls, still being a hippie guy etc., and suddenly I got support from my brother with whom I have very little contact ! but even from my son, usually tired of his parents still being hippies, but now supporting the choice of being what you want to be ! and of course some of my new overalls friends, where one of them told me that her daughter of 17, is now looking for overalls in order to join her mother ! it makes me so happy all this ! so have a nice weekend ! and I really enjoy your daily post !

If only people knew...what an early bird you are!! Love the lantern with Jack. While I'm not an overalls person, I am in total solidarity with you and Niels. Ya gotta be who you are!

I know that when I say "early bird" most other people would make it "early bird crazy person"! It works for now...who knows what's going to happen once I begin more regular working life and hours!

thanks Evelyn, and well, I am actually in a so called regular work ! so it is possible to keep your self, even if you have to go on compromise sometime during the day, that's the way I am sort of surviving within the regular working system ! looking forward to your post today ! and now to some cleaning and laundry work ! and then coffee!!

Niels...how well I know the compromises one makes to get along in the regular work world! Laury and I talked about that a lot last month. Don't you just love her Jack and Jill O'Lanterns?? You guys are making me seriously consider buying a pair of overalls...omg, I'm turning to the 'dark side!' I really should be thinking about buying a business suit!

Evelyn, yes, I like the lanterns, reminds me of being several times in San Francisco on this very day, seeing all the lanterns, so for me Laury is bringing some kind of California to France !? and now to the really serious matter :)) considering to either buy overalls or a business suit !, it demands a new post on my own blog, check it out in a few hours from now !
