The winner of my blog feedback contest, who as you can see, was chosen by Dali this morning, is...ARABELLA PEREZ! Arabella will receive a set of four Camembert Cheese Top Coasters and a one page 2010 Photo Calendar designed especially for her. Although Arabella is our grand prize winner, everyone else who participated will receive a special Mélange-ing Magic Calendar for 2010. So, Arabella, Niels, Evelyn and Anne: please send me your snail mail address (or reconfirm it with me), so I can get everyone's prizes out soon!
As most of you have probably noticed, I have tried to incorporate comments and feedback received as we went along in the process this week. My favorite comment came from Niels who said that the black background made him feel like he was "watching a movie of my life"! I've often said that I feel like I live in a painting and my life is a movie, so Niels's comment cinched the black background for me.
I have one more question for my contest participants about the layout. Although this layout allows for the 10 photos in the third column on the right, it doesn't allow me to organize the sidebar on the left with the items in order of importance. Are the photos worth giving up the choice? Let me hear from you-I can go either way. Congratulations Arabella! 9 Days to Evelyn!-And, merci Dali!
Sounds like you'll need a "healer" after a conference on eliminating health care disparities! I'll have to check out the book. Just keep on living those dreams. By the way...Dals says you're welcome. Bon Voyage!

Wow! Do I get to make an acceptance speech? Thank you Dali!
Keep the photos and yes I also liked the old format for the photos. Maybe you'll figure it out.
Off to Santa Fe tomorrow for a Georgetown Leadership training on Eliminating Health Care Disparities. I can't wait. Everything I read about Santa Fe enchants me. I've even managed to schedule a time to meet with Elena Avila a Mexican Healer in Albuquerque (curandera) who is a rock start among healers and wrote an amazing book called "Woman Who Glows in the Dark" . Read it if you get a chance.
So between winning this contest and getting to meet Elena I'm in heaven and living my dreams!
Best-A

Thanks about my photos-and you are correct about the problem! I actually tried to go back to the old format this morning and it didn't want to do it. We shall see! Your very wonderful Happy Birthday arrived today! Can you guess what I did with the Eiffel Towers?

Your photos are so full of beautiful detail that I don't think the thumbnails on the right showcase them very well. When it gets closer to International Overall Day, you might want to move that item to the top on the left; if you keep the thumbnails, you won't be able to do that, right? Hey! I'm down to single digits...yippee!
