Posting about missing my overalls yesterday brought me through many of the photos of our International Overalls Day celebration at the Chatette last November. Seeing all my friends enjoying themselves at our place, showed me once more how well I have built a life for us in Cadrieu. Greg has probably been in the best touch since I've been gone, but then he is checking on my mail and keeping me posted. I miss my friends. There is a small group of us here that gets together after work from time to time. Last night I mentioned in passing how much I missed my overalls, and how perfect they would be in the work with children-especially the pockets. Out of nowhere comes...you can't wear overalls, they are blue jeans, you can't, you can't, you...I was a little taken aback to say the least. My reaction might have been different under other circumstances, but this time all I did was look over and say: "I didn't say I was going to wear them, I just said I missed them. I don't even have any here with me!" And then I got another "You can't!" I had to smile to myself just a bit, let go, laugh and keep moving!
I used to say "I am my overalls" a little bit in jest. Now I know for a fact: "I am my overalls!" I'm going to try to find a pair in Germany to be my souvenir to bring home!

Argh! I hate it when people tell me 'you can't.' Just makes me want to do it all the more. I think it has something to do with coming of age in the 1960's...I hate authority! Teflon, Laury, teflon!Remember your butterflies. On another note...cute photo of Greg. He's a sweetheart!

Hi, its actually interesting how you can get so strong emotional reactions against ! I am wondering why it is so, whether we are threatening something ! are we a threat for the social order ?? you know my story about some old friends, who 2 years ago told me that I could not look like that (overalls, jeans jacket and red cap!) when I was responsible for large prestigious international research projects !!! well, the fact that I am responsible for these projects along with my overalls attire, tells me just to stick to that ! (even if I also in some cases are taking jeans or black pants, although these cases are decreasing in number all the time !)
