During the 2007 visit of Kat and Tom's, Tom found these great sugar tubes that included all the teams in the World Cup. Being the huge soccer fan that he is, I was sent on a soccer sugar search when they ran out. Unable to find teams in tubes, I did find general soccer guys in cubes and mailed them to St. Louis. I was on the hunt again last year, but alas, nothing remotely related to soccer. Instead, Kat and Tom got tourist sites of France. On the hunt once more last week, no soccer yet, but more sites and then these darling marionettes-Théâtre de Guignol from Béghin Say. They were so cute that I thought about getting another box at the Eco-Marche. When I got to the aisle-the boxes with tubes were gone but I then noticed boxes of cubes. My question to Kat where sugar packets are concerned was: "Are you and Tom Tube people or Cube people?" How about you?
I love this shot of the box of flowers I hung from the half door of the barn. I took it standing on the ladder looking down from above. This ladder (with a rung strategically missing near the top) is the only means of getting up to the loft in the barn. All these years, I've only had reason to go up to look around and take pictures near the front opening. Now, I want to begin to walk around and get some things moved and down. But, there are holes in the floor and the beams are weak in places. I may be a bit of a risk taker, but I'm not nuts. I may need spotting, or someone to pick up the pieces if I come crashing down! Plus, there are a lot of items that will have to be thrown or passed from the second floor down to the land, because there's no way any of it will make it down the ladder! There may be a field trip in our Monday Language Class's future!
Although I too am a "tuber" for all the reasons I mentioned, for a journaler like me-I enjoy having both because you get a different effect from each one when you put the empty paper packets in your journal.

I think you know I'm a "tuber"...love the marionnettes! And the Flavigny boxes!

I don't remember that scene from "Le Divorce"-I'm with you-tubes for me-they are easier to use, dissolve faster, and lighter when packing to take to friends and family. Thankfully-Kat and Tom are tube people too. Don't worry, there will be lots of helping to go around...even beyond the barn!

PS...save some moving, spotting, handing over for me! I'm a great helper.

Ah...the great French sugar debate...loose or cubed? There's a scene in movie 'Le Divorce' where Naomi Watts spares with her French mother-in-law, Leslie Caron over this very important matter. Being an impatient American I'd have to go with tubes over cubes, I guess. Takes too long for cubes to dissolve.
