Walking with Dal this morning, I was reminded of the extremes in views I see every morning from just this spot along the Lot. Sometimes they are bright, brilliant, intense and scream "Here I am, look at me." Other times, they are soft, sweet, nurturing, cradling, and stroke my soul. I have learned however, that this is not a place for everyone. I am (and have always been) very honest with anyone I invite or anyone who expresses an interest in coming here. This is the country. This is a village of 135 (and growing I understand) people. I have no car. I have no television. I heat with the fireplace in the winter. I travel on foot, by bike, or bus. If you want movies, shopping, drinking, coffees, and sites, you can find them; but you are really going to have to work at it. If you want these things at your fingertips, don't come. Coming here is about blending into our life, the way we live it. It's not for everyone...but when there's fit it's grand!
