Entertaining at the Chatette these days is not something I do regularly. Everyone isn't quite sturdy enough to endure life lived next to the fireplace. For those friends who don't mind an adventure in heating, they manage to make their way down for dinner or drinks fireside. This past Thursday, Jane and Yves Jolly came over for a little late surprise birthday celebration for Yves. Evelyn and Lucie came down too, and we celebrated Yves well. There was a candle on the appletarte and a crown on the galette-blown and worn-and then our "king" found "favor" once more in his piece of galette. After demolishing both desserts, we voted the galette #1. I stumbled on some sachets at the Jardin de Figeac to make medieval hot spiced wine-so as you can imagine...a good time was had by all.
You're right Niels-it was a party warm with so many more things than just the fire! I am so truly blessed.

it sounds and not least looks as you had a very warm party despite the physical temperature !:) you know your friends when they are coming any way! I love the apple tart and galette, Niels in a rainy California for a change, although sun is supposed to be back tomorrow
