Working as hard as I am, my overalls are paying the price. This pair in my work crew may have to be retired after this summer season, or they may have just had enough that they can walk off on their own. There is soil caked on the behind, black iron paint on the knees, dangling suspenders have fallen into varnish, they've been torn many times when captured on various nails and other impaling objects, and I have a bad habit of taking my clean brush out of the water and just brushing it off on the legs to dry. Each pair has a life all their own and a story to tell that reflects my life and times. Do you think there's an Overalls Heaven?
Niels, I couldn't have said it better. I'm not sure where I'll be on International Overalls Day this year...maybe in St. Louis with my parents-Kat and I have been talking about having a party to celebrate everything I missed being away this year...maybe November 20 would be a good date-I'll keep you posted on the plans! Love, Laury

yes, I think, I mean overalls heaven and it is right here as well as out there :) and this post sort of complement your previous post on your "nice" overalls, making it an overall totality, in which you and I believe, almost as a religion ! (hope not offending anybody!) yes, in contrast to farmers and construction workers, we have chosen the overalls as our dress in contrast to most of our colleagues in universities or social work, because we believe in overalls giving us a good life across gender etc., both the nice ones and not least the dirty and torn ones, allowing you to roar around, almost dancing:), getting you as close you can get to heaven on earth, right ? saying this on this holy Sunday sitting in one of my favorite baggy overalls after cleaning house and before going out in the mountains and pick a bucket of blueberries ! so thanks, lol Niels
