Gathering walnuts on vacation can be a great activity when there isn't anything else going on. I kept my gang pretty busy while they were here, so walnuting was never necessary. Now that everyone's gone, the dust has settled, the laundry's been done,
beds remade, vernissage stuff cleaned up and put away; the walnuts called our names. Dal and Lucie and I went out together to gather and explore. These guys settle into every nook and cranny. By the time we were finished, my basket was full and I'd also found some beautiful leaves and stones that I just couldn't resist. While I was working, I heard the plunk of more walnuts hitting the train tracks. They screamed: "Evelyn, we're waiting!" Evelyn is already planning a walnut gathering event for her and Lucie once she settles in down at the train house next week! For now, these will be drying on the terrace and we'll keep on gathering till our tree is done!
I laughed because they look like they are "conversating"...and they were so much help!
