Being a city/suburb girl, the only mistletoe I'd ever seen before coming to Europe was plastic. I'd guess we could have gotten the real thing at the florist, but that just wasn't part of our budget when we were growing up. I was shocked when Jean pointed it out to me growing on a tree along the route to Villefranche one day. I would have loved to get out and look closer, but we are usually on a mission. What fun to discover a whole booth of Mistletoe at last year's Christmas Fair in Ghent. Surrounded by Mistletoe at Christmas...could that mean more than just kisses? Wishing you a holiday season surrounded by those you love. Happy Holidays!
Mon Dieu Maya-you must have been quite a shot! I guess I'm an example of what happens when you become more of a country girl in later life...realizing I was mistletoe deprived. Hope you and yours have a wonderful Holiday Season-Merry Christmas Eve from Holland and a Happy New Year full of Overalls! Love, Laury

Laury,
I had to laugh when I saw the mistletoe. It is thriving in bunches in just about every tree I have. When I was younger, steadier and with better eyesight we would actually shoot it out of the tree with a BB gun. Those days are over. Too old to hold steady, can't see and dang thing without glasses and too many kittens on the limbs.
Hope you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
