Believe it or not, this photo of my once favorite tree along the Lot in front of the Chatette has not been touched up in any way. It was the most photogenic of trees. I have the many many photos to prove it. A couple of years ago, it went the way of high water and rotting roots. I looked out the window one morning, and my friend/co-photo conspirator was gone. And so with the daily rains and a high, fast, rushing river; I fear that many more of the trees along the bank in front of us are going to be floating off shortly. It's sad to see. There's a gaping hole where my friend used to be since even more have departed. There are a couple more I'm worried about in front of the Chatette. Over our ten years here, they've: bloomed for me, framed the dancing diamonds, cradled our moon, pointed to the hangliders, boasted beautiful sparkling spider webs, and droplets of lights that look like Christmas bulbs or Easter eggs. It's been a good run. I'm going to miss them too.
I leave you with some photos below of high, water, empty spaces, trees on their way and more of my friends who appear to be on the verge of letting go.
