Many county municipalities were once rural residences or a "residence secondaire" for urban dwellers. Finding barns on my wanders, should be no surprise. You have: barns turned garage; barns turned home; and on this trip one even had train tracks in its backyard! They aren't as close as mine, but good thing...these trains still run!
Although these house barns are made of wood and have large and many windows, it was interesting to see the similarity of the roof design to our stone baby back home.
When I took these photos, I walked up Elizabeth toward Chambers/Hereford, right down Darst and then took a left and walked to the dead end of Clay. There's a sidewalk that runs along the little barn house that takes you to the tracks where you can make a short cut to the post office!
Off to the Ferguson Post Office again today. More barn wanderings await!
