...are creeping into New Orleans with the debut of June today. Ah, to be sitting in the cool Chatette in Cadrieu, digging out in the barn, dangling my feet in the lavoir, or lounging riverside by the Lot with a nice glass of Cahors.. But no, I'm in New Orleans.
The Chatette has taught me well. In the winters, as I used only the fireplace for heat, I learned to pay attention to the patterns of warm and cold throughout the day. I learned that the level of activity also made a difference.
I've been worried about the heat and humidity here this summer. I'm not used to it, but friends say: "You'll adapt, Laury." I didn't really believe them, but sure enough...here I am doing the same thing-paying attention to the patterns of hot and cool, levels of activity and living more in the cooler parts of the house. It works. Happy Saturday!
