Most of you know that I've made a conscious decision to live in New Orleans, sans car and television. I'm generally on my bike, or the bus and streetcars, unless it is: unsafe, too hot, I have big items to carry, or I've rented a car to drive to St. Louis. I love public transportation. I realized the other day, that once I make 3 transfer trips; it's in my best interest to buy the one day pass for $3. Now, I'm doing this for purely economic reasons. Riding up Esplanade on my first pass day it hit me: "The places I'd go!" What a treat to be able to cruise around the City! I could: shop on Canal Street; wander the French Quarter; walk in the Garden District; hang out at the Museum and enjoy City Park; enjoy Audubon Park and the Zoo; eat at the Camelia Grill at the Riverbend; and the list goes on and on. There's so much more that I have yet to discover on public transportation. What would you do, if you could park your car, and for just $3, enjoy all day in New Orleans?
