...the Pontalba Apartments face each other from two sides, the St. Louis Cathedral gazes toward Decatur Street and the Mississippi River; Jackson Square is surrounded by beauty, majesty and power. I didn't dawdle on Friday. I thought I was going to try to hot foot it to the bus and get home. Little did I know that there was going to be so much more left to discover.
Passing through "the Square" it was hard not to think of Sister Ann. Each corner I passed, and every new angle I saw, had been captured in water color by my friend. She was there, in her old spot, under her wide-brimmed straw hat, smiling that huge, toothy, glowing grin, only to plant a whisper of "Hello Dear," in my ear.
I leave you with a favorite water color of mine done by Sister Ann that lives at the Chatette in France. During 2010, it hung in the vernissage. She encouraged me so, when I was trying to decide if I should try to buy the Chatette. She never made it, but many of her paintings did. Her spirit lives on "partout".
