Evelyn warned me that my wisteria was about to bloom. We were crossing our fingers that it wouldn't bloom till after my arrival, but it looks like it just couldn't wait. When I planted these two different varieties of wisteria in 2007, my goal was for them to eventually cover the whole stone wall that runs along my property beside the train tracks. One that grew profusely for years never bloomed. In 2012 we had one bloom, and it got blown off by the wind. As you can see, this year is a different story. We are close to meeting that goal.
Both are blooming. Both are beautiful. Could they last till the 2nd of May? We'll find out. Thanks to Evelyn for the beautiful shots. I picked them up right before I began my afternoon class. My students might have seen a tear in my eye. Enjoy Evelyn's photos!
