Yesterday morning I woke to dreams of Dali. I was thinking and feeling that I already have the perfect urn for her ashes. Now this wouldn't be too strange, but I'd thought I'd already decided that we would walk around the village on our usual route with a few friends and sprinkle her ashes in favorite places as we went. There were a few problems with that plan. The biggest piece was Sammie cat couldn't be with us.
Into my usual morning routine, I stood on the ledge and steps that sweet Sydney Jolly had rebuilt for me and looked toward the back corner of the barn and cliff. Some ivy vines were hanging down in the space between the two that blocked a much prettier view of the road and another piece of my land. I'm all for "prettier views", so with lobbers and gloves I made my way over to remedy the situation.
In no time, we were very beautiful over there and a prettier view was set. But something pushed me just a little further. I could see some pretty stone beneath all the soil, vines and leaves so I began to to what I do....cleaning, pruning, pulling and there it was...the perfect alcove for Dali to rest.
For some reason, scattering never felt exactly right. The urn, the spot, being near to the Chatette, Sam being able to come over with us and then visit from time to time, being able to put her out when we're here and bring her inside when we leave; all made this more perfect!
So, we'll be having a little coffee to celebrate Dali sometime soon before we return to the states. She's ready. I know that she is going to have exactly what she wants. Because, she told me so.
Thanks, Kat. I also have a perfect hanging vase and a medieval looking votive candle that are going to look incredible over there! It all feels very right! I'm pleased-and so is Dals! Love you-Moi
