There are so many more things about fall in Cadrieu than pumpkins and changing leaves. I love my pumpkin guys, but our walnuts and rosehips add very special touches to fall fun.
It's impossible for me to recreate all that walnut and rosehip gathering in New Orleans or St. Louis. I'm sure I could find them if I tried. The huge difference is that at home; I have both right outside my door
Whether it's wandering the train tracks to scoop our walnuts, or donning my heavy work gloves to pick the rosehips from our wild roses along the tracks; these are activities that I've found myself missing each of these last falls from the states.
The walnuts need to dry a while. The rosehips need to be baked before turning them into tea. But, everywhere along the way I've discovered opportunities to enjoy their beauty and bounty.
It's a Happy Fall from France with a Special Chatette Brand of Flavor!
