Roaming the world as I seem to do, often looks and sounds exciting and easy to others.
Of course, it is exciting. Easy is another story. Easy, it's not. I could list a litany of things here that are difficult, but I'd rather focus on the one thing that helps me make it all look easier than it truly is: my wonderful friends and family.
I've teased about "Team Cadrieu" and that it truly takes a village to manage me. Team Ferguson was re-birthed on this trip in a whole new way. And now, Team New Orleans has morphed into "Team New Orleans/Covington".
Planning my New Orleans return for mid-November, I knew that International Overalls Weekend was going to be on the tail end. 2013 was so much fun, I wanted to do something again.
Initially, I was going to drive a rental car down and would be driving it back on the Saturday of that weekend. Mike and John stepped in and said: "Why don't you think about doing it here at Mahogany Oaks? Then, we can have it that Friday and you can head to St. Louis from here." Once it turned into a 2 week trip, flying was more cost effective and we were able to stay till Monday. What a treat!
And so, it became a celebration of Always Overalls and Ancient Oaks in Covington at Mike and John's Mahogany Oaks last weekend. I was so excited. Our International event had grown. We were celebrating overalls and ancient oaks.
But before the evening began (most of us weren't even in our overalls yet), the door bell rang and suddenly we were celebrating so much MORE! Tomorrow...the rest of the story!
