Knowing that I won't be going home to Cadrieu this summer, there are some things that I just know I'm going to be missing with 5000 miles and an ocean between us.
Scrolling through some photos from last year, a couple jumped out at me.
First, roses and overalls. There are no roses in my garden here on Columbus Street.
Maybe it's time to plant some, or I'm going to find myself wandering through Stew's garden on Dupre Street sneaking off with roses instead of camellias. Of course, there are lots of overalls here. 100% humidity and over 90 degrees on most summer days do not lend themselves to overalls of any kind...even the short ones!
And then there's THE floppy hat and the wagon. Even I know when there's no chance of duplication no matter how hard I might try. THE floppy hat has a life and a personality all its own. It fits in anywhere. As much as I love the red floppy one I have here, it just can't compete.
And the wagon, well...it's just going to have to sit there all wrapped up in its protective blue plastic tarp. I know all about "blue roofs"-now I have a "blue wagon". As much as I am going to miss a summer of home and being me in my life, I know it's all waiting for me there till the next time. Happy Friday!
You're so right, Niels...and, it is okay. I'll get home when we can. There's just so much swirling around and going on that it's best to stay put and catch my breath. I love that you consider that 2012 trip one of your best...I know that you and Bodil were certainly some of my very best visitors. I'm thinking garden too, but it's cold today. Love you bunches-Hugs to you and Bodil-Laury and Sammie Cat

I can feel that you now have ONE home, where you have roses and wear overalls and have your straw hat, and that's good even if you cannot make it home this summer, really hope you can make it relatively soon, yesterday I heard music in the radio reminding me of our fantastic journey in 2012, still considering it as my best vacation ever, love Niels and Bodil, starting to work in the garden,
