Having tried various routes to get me to the new Tulane School of Social Work building downtown, I've settled on one that takes me down St. Phillip through the heart of Treme. It borders the furthest downtown side of Armstrong Park, so when gates are open...I'm in heaven and I shoot right through.
Each morning ride, I'd been passing the Treme Coffee House. I knew I had to stop sometime soon and discover this "new" place. Coming home one day with papers to review, I decided to stop, relax, have a coffee and maybe a nibble, and do my reading there. I'm glad I did.
From my table, I faced outside and had a great angle for seeing the whole place. First, I discovered that the Treme Coffee House is not really new. It's been around for about three years, and was recently sold to the new owner. I can only imagine how many other wonderful "tucked away" places there are in the City that I haven't discovered yet because they are off MY beaten path.
Papers read, cafe au lait and pain au chocolate finished, I packed up to head on home. But, not before I explored and got a few more shots. You'll find: an outside terrace for balmy and low humidity days; a menu that includes lunch items as well; and, comfortable chairs if you want to have a more intimate conversation. I know I'll be back...another great discovery on a not so beaten path in New Orleans.
