Yesterday morning I set out on my bike at 7:30 on a crepe myrtle mission. Although it was successful, it was the surprises in the process of that hour ride that were just as much or more fun. Here we go-trumpet-ing again!
Home earlier this year from the holidays and my four months in Ferguson, I found this trumpet plant in full bloom. It hadn't gotten cold enough to freeze here yet. It was a real treat. I knew I was home.
At the end of my ride yesterday, I passed this spot again. I couldn't resist. I got off my bike, wandered around the plant, and discovered the sun in an interesting spot. It was fun to watch people drive by and smile as they saw me all caught up in the inside of this baby.
I smiled too.
I think you can easily see why they are also called "Angel Trumpets." The angels were working overtime yesterday. What a treat! Enjoy!
