Thinking about my childhood piano and its impending return, I began to look back at some of the old photos I have here on Columbus Street. Many went to France with me, but many were left behind. I discovered some of my photos of the piano before the storm, and of course...after the storm.
I was happy to find this photo looking into the "former" living room and dining room, that shows the piano in its spot against the front wall of the house. It was a great spot for it, and with the windows open I could serenade the neighborhood.
Even though my sheet music books with "It's Magic" and "The Last Time I Saw Paris" are still in France, I did bring some single sheets and smaller books home with me. Little did my very young Sammie Cat know that only a year after these photos were taken in the spring of 2005; she, Dali Dog and I were about to become full-time French girls.
You can see that Sammie Cat loves the piano as much as I do. The last time Sam saw Paris, we were staying at the Libertel near the Gare d'Austerlitz waiting to catch our shuttle to the airport and return to Ferguson. She loved looking out the window and from there...she really could see Paris.
