Checking out Facebook this morning, I noticed that it was my friend Jean-Pierre Martenot's birthday in Cadrieu. I like to send my wishes to my friends along with a photo that I think they would like. Remembering how much Jean-Pierre and Francoise love hiking, along with his many beautiful photos of well-known sights that hung in our vernissages...this shot above of the towpath between St. Cirq Lapopie and Bouzies was the one.
I knew exactly where to find it, so that part was easy. The not so easy part was finding so many of my old favorites in the same file. Most are from 2005, before Dali, Sam and I were full-time French Girls.
I'm also sharing the shot below of my favorite tree that stood right outside my front windows on the river. It's beauty, grace, and strength spoke to me. (And yes, that is the color of the photo I took early one morning in the mist.) As the Lot River bank is eroding in front of the Chatette, we are losing many of our beautiful trees. My favorite was a casualty too. It broke my heart, but at least I have this (and many other) photos to stir the memories.
Joyeux Anniversarie, Jean-Pierre and thanks for stirring more memories!
