Sometimes the number of photos I have can be overwhelming. I've shared favorites with you in the past. I've even tried to choose which one of ALL of them would be my favorite. Today I share the first photo that got me on the road to taking my photography seriously...Crib of Corn.
It began on my 1997 fall trip to Wendy's in Tour de Faure, when she said: "We have to move to Belgium, can't you come and live in our house for a year?" What an offer! I immediately thought of all the reasons I couldn't. I wandered on my own with my camera. I scooped this shot. I was reading Rick Jarow's "Create the Work You Love." I was watching St. Cirq Lapopie rise out of the morning mist. There was a lot of wishful thinking going on. But then Rick Jarow pointed me in the direction of Robert Johnson, who said:
"If a fantasy is not responded to it becomes an energy leak. It is the creative faculty squandering itself into wishful thinking. Wishing for what one doesn't have is a symptom of unaligned energy."
I found a way to align my energy.
