Tucked away in my safe, sweet, cozy corner beside the fireplace at the Chatette, I'd been sleeping some nights in flannel pajamas! No matter how hot it gets in Cadrieu, it has never been as hot (or humid) as it is in New Orleans during the summers. This is one of the many reasons I've only spent 2 of the last 10 summers in New Orleans.
Prior to my return to New Orleans, everyone said: "Get ready. It's really hot. It's been hotter this summer than many others." I already knew what I had to be prepared for. I also knew that it meant getting out early if there was anything I wanted to do outside and that I would almost be a prisoner on Columbus Street where the air contioning is my best friend.
Hot in New Orleans? Hmmm, this is what I found the night that I returned when I went into the kitchen.
