I love this photo from the Stravinsky Fountain in Paris. It is a photo I usually give as wedding presents or send on Valentine's Day.
Today, I'm using it to make a very important point about "lip-service". For me, "lip-service" is when you talk, talk, talk, but never actually put any energy, strength, or action behind your words. Although words are important too, words without action are meaningless. There was a saying a while back that you can talk the talk, but do you walk the walk. It's in the walking the walk that gives crediblity and support to your words.
Many of us are allies. It's been easier to be an ally during these previous eight years. Yesterday, being an ally became much more difficult. Today, I want to encourage all of my friends and colleagues to stand tall and together. Don't fade in the background and only pay lip-service because being an ally just became a lot more difficult.
I challenge each and every one of us to take inventory and figure out how to be the strongest ally possible. Ask yourself: Are you ready to walk the walk? I hope so.
I love you too, Niels-and, I'll look forward to reading your posts once you get home.Direct flight to Copenhagen...Mon Dieu...Travel safe-hug Bodil and I'll be back-Love Lots, Laury and Sam

Of course, you know I'm WITH YOU-Niels.We may be a bit naive; but we are grounded, hopeful, and not afraid to work for change! It must have been something to be here for THIS election. I'm still reeling-but, it will come and we will deal with it...whatever it is! Looking so forward to seeing you and Bodil again-you'll laugh-I dreamed last night that you came to the states for 2017 International Overalls Weekend and you and my friends here in NO had a huge party without me-Love you bunches-Laury

I think and feel very strongly that our brother- and sisterhood sharing our overalls, is one of many strong, seriously, attempts to make a global movement to ensure that we keep focus on making a good life where we are, and show the world how to make a good community and in the end a reasonable society ! maybe naive but it is definitively grounded ! love Niels, having had a very special experience here in SF with so many good people, and will try to continue when I come home on Saturday and need to wear insulated overalls :)
