From under the watchful gaze of the Collegiale Notre Dame, today is the day of the Villefranche-de-Rouergue weekly morning market. It's been on my mind a lot this week, since a friend of mine is spending time there on a job. When I found out where she was and that she would be there today, I said: "You must go to the market on Thursday morning. It is one of the best!"
I woke up at my usual very early time on Columbus Street in New Orleans this morning, wishing I were there with her to wander in the market. We'd do our shopping, then wrap the morning with a coffee or a wine together before heading home.
Lunch...perhaps!
Since that was not to be, I did the next best thing; I delved in to my photos from other wonderful days at the market with friends.
It's always:
So much fun.
So much beauty.
So many regional products, crops and artisans.
So much entertaining company and people watching, and,
Too many magical memories to count.
Better hurry! It's almost 10:20 and you don't want to miss a moment!
So glad you got to go and you had a pretty day for it, Pam. Would have loved to have been able to roam, shop, and nibble our way through the market together. Have a great rest of the week. Love, Laury and Sammie Cat

Oh Niels...it's those huge Cathedrals that do it every time! I always smile when I remember that day together. I don't know about you, but I'm ready to make more memories with you and Bodil! Love to you Both-Laury and Sam

Actually Niels, we were in Cahors that day. We can get to Cahors easily on the bus...Villefranche requires a car or a much more complex public transportation event-bus and train I believe. I've often said though, that it would be worth it. I should put it on my return agenda! Lots of Love to you and Bodil-we are Mardi Gras-ing like crazy over here-
