Sometimes in the midst of getting ready to go, surprises appear. I'm working really hard to get the house organized and straightened before Sammie Cat and I head out. One of the first things I always think about is: "What if there's a hurricane again and we flood?" The things I treasure most, seem to be paper: journals, books, stamp collections, old photos, old letters, AND Dad's movie scrapbooks.
I discovered last time around during Katrina, that it helps to; put things of value high AND put them in heavy plastic storage containers if at all possible!
Before I put Dad's movie scrapbooks in a high plastic container, I sat down to look at them one more time. They are works of art. (We are a collaging bunch.) These two pages of Marilyn Monroe caught my eye. Upon further inspection, I realized that the card in the top left section was intact, AND it was from Mom. I opened it and read it. I was reminded once more of their love and how they both taught each of the four of us to give love and show love.
Once again, Mom stopped by. Can you find her?
I'll have to go back and read the card more fully...it was something about being his other "favorite" movie star-It was a really special moment yesterday! Love you kiddo-Laury
