Speakers, signs, music and marching; made Saturday's March for Science New Orleans special. I enjoy the signs for self-expression and the march for energizing. Although I've been busy on and off sending my postcards to DC and making phone calls to my Congressmen; I need a little boost once in a while. This march worked that magic for me.
It was fun to see a "brain hat" or two or three.
I enjoyed talking to "scientists" who jokingly said to me: "You know things are serious when the scientists come out of their labs to march. Scientists just don't do this!"
Our New Orleans speakers were incredible.
Then, there was a gang of Anthropologists in town who did an amazing job of stirring the energy of the marchers and the event from the podium. I talked to a few marchers who were here for conferences and came out to march with us!
We are lucky that New Orleans is such a conference destination!
The passion was palpable.
The creativity was contagious.
Exuberant energy was everywhere.
The steps emptied.
The hills emptied.
And, we are not alone!
