I don't think I could have asked for a better studio photo of our guy if I tried. It's only the beginning of day three on our own and all feels right with our world. I've stayed close to home so Gaston and Sam could ease in to some kind of a new routine for all of us together. So far, so good!
We've got system in place so he is learning to stay out of the kitchen. See that one horizontal line in the photo on the right...blocking the entrance at that line has worked amazingly well. He is very happy to sit there and wait for me on the other side of the barrier.
The true test is going to be when I have to head out to the grocery store and other errands at some point. I have a feeling we will be fine.
Our days are winding in to a flow. Each step we are a little closer to making our own routine. Sam has forgiven me, but still isn't 100% sure about him. He just lets her be, which is actually kind of sweet to see. Especially when she spits at him from time to time. He's no dummy! He knows she's the queen around here.
These initial shots of him seemed odd and cartoonish from time to time. There is so much of him, that you really can't truly appreciate him until he is "unfurled!"
He is such a beauty. How could you NOT love that face and those expressive eyes?
And of course, they are always easy to love when they're sleeping!
Happy Monday!
Hey Larry-(love when you call me "doll")-Although our Gaston is wise and lovey, he is only 2 years old. I do have a very soft spot for the oldsters though. We're having fun and he is rounding out our lives in Cadrieu...it's been fun taking all these photos-I'm incorrible, you know! Have a great day-Love, Laury, Sam and Gaston

Hi Doll, I'm so glad you shot this study of Gaston....he seems to be sweet and intelligent. Age has taught him patience and respect. One of my favorite quotes....of course it needs no explanation: "A man may consider his life a success if he has the love of an old dog."
