...but a mystery to be lived says Thomas Merton.
Living life in the throws of problems these days, I've been searching for more ways to "live the mystery!" Big hugs from friends and coffee visits always seem to help. Yesterday, I needed MORE! I called Evelyn and invited her down to share a special bottle of wine and nibbles around 4:30. I'd already told myself that Sunday was going to be a day to put on a pretty dress and I would feel pretty...et voila!
Before Evelyn arrived I decided to uncork this bottle of wine to let it breathe, as the experts seem to do. Alas, my wonderful corkscrew just pushed right through the cork that crumbled. The ancient hand number that I had was no better. I enlisted Evelyn to bring her ballerina type that was also a no go. I was ready to pitch the wine and had another waiting in the wings to be opened, but Evelyn convinced me to push on through.
We pushed the cork down, got out the trusty strainer, and were we happy we had! What a nice bottle of wine. We had to strain the cork out at every pour, but I'd just pitch out the window and we could keep drinking, nibbling, and chatting! HUGE MERCI to Evelyn!
Here's to living the mystery!
Always...hmmm, maybe usually is more accurate!
