Arriving in St. Cirq Lapopie with Beth earlier this week, we had hiked up an almost mountain goat path to get to the village from the Lot River below. This particular path put us just below the church so we stopped there first.
I have my rituals and routines when I'm able to visit favorite places. I always search for St. Therese of Lisieux and light a candle in gratefulness to say that HUGE MERCI for this wonderful life I have in the Lot. We were a little earlier than I usually am, but I was on mission. I got my 2euro coin out of my backpack and picked up my large tapered candle to go visit my Merci Lady and light my candle.
Usually, I'm adding it to the scene above.
This time, no go.
There was nary a match or an already lit candle to be found.
I looked everywhere.
I was disappointed, but decided to just put my unlit candle beside her and work just a little bit harder than usual to stir my own personal gratefulness energy!
And, as I turned...I was surrounded in a different kind of light.
Happy Monday!
