Tackling the lower terrace staircases yesterday was a labor of love and lessons learned. As I mentioned before, I haven't done any major work down here since 2012. I'd continued cutting the buddleias back, but that was about it. Runaway mint was easy. The moss took a lot of scraping, touching and loving on the stone again. That I enjoyed.
The results are always rewarding!
Not only do I have tops to do on this staircase, but the backs as well!
Then there was the ivy. I've said too many times "it's just ivy" and now I'm paying for it. I hadn't realized till I got down there that it had completely covered the driveway stone wall and tiny staircase. I got to work there but still have a lot to do.
Today's plan is to soldier on with staircases, steps, and ivy! Then, attack the floor of the terrace to get it back to beautiful, clear stone!
You'll know where I'll be!
Happy Saturday!
