Those of you who know my Sam well and have seen her in action, will know exactly what is going on in this shot above!
She's a "burrower!"
With a long run of rainy days, we find ourselves inside and enjoying each others company even more than usual. I seem to be reading about a book a day and continue on the chores of recapturing our place and even doing a little downsizing in the process. She often comes to snuggle in my lap while I read in my favorite "reading" armchair. But, what I've come to realize is that "yes" she loves me, but she loves my chair more. I sometimes get the feeling that she wants me to vacate "her" chair. Can't you just hear her saying:
"Ha, you only think this is your chair...it's mine now!"
Sam and I have been through a lot together over all these years. Next year, she is going to be 15 years old. I think she still looks like a young whipper snapper, but I sometimes think that her small size could be deceiving.
I realize that her eyes are paling and her fur seems to be going more white in places. Watching her sleep so peacefully in her chair the other day, I was overcome with deep feelings of love, home, and meant to be for the two of us! That's my girl!
We are home!
Happy Wednesday!
