When I first bought the Chatette from Stuart back in 2002, he used to say to me: "It's perfect for you, Laury. You can get on your bike every morning and ride into Cajarc to get your morning croissant and a fresh baguette...with the butterflies traveling behind!"
Stu painted quite a sweet and romantic picture for me that I loved thinking about. I most enjoyed the butterfly part.
But I must confess, that it hasn't exactly happened that way. Reality, rain, and the rest sank in. Besides, a baguette a day is way more than I can handle AND a croissant a day would mean I'd need more than one bike ride a day and a major daily exercise regime!
Even so, I decided to ride in to Cajarc yesterday and see where the mood took me. My first mission was to La Poste. I had two letters to mail and then I was free to wheel around the ville.
Which slot do you think I used for my letters?
I wanted to check out the hours of a number of establishments, but when I saw that Lagarde was open I stopped for a baguette and a pain au chocolat...didn't even spend 2 euros!
Continuing on, I enjoyed the early morning quiet-no circulation-few people-the start of a whole new fresh day and a chance to see Cajarc waking up!
On my second turn of the circle, I was reminded that I do have an old friend in town that I always like to stop and see when I can. I've been remiss this visit, so I headed to the center of the old part of town to make my stop.
Come back tomorrow to hear more about where I went and my visit with my friend!
Happy Wednesday!
