All along our river side road, you will find breaks in the stone wall with stone staircases that take you down to the Lot. On my way in to the Intermarche in Cajarc yesterday morning, I saw some old photo friends across the river and knew that I'd have to stop at this break and stone staircase on my way home.
It's a favorite spot where I've taken many other shots before, that I bet you'd recognize right away.
Yesterday's challenge was that I had a bike basket full of milk, baguette, and pastries from my favorite patisserie in Cajarc: Didier Roux.
All I can say about these baguettes is that they are constant conversation pieces in my mind. I was afraid that this one was going to go tumbling out of my basket as I parked the bike. But they actually appear to be happier in my basket than they are in my back-pack. That felt like quite an accomplishment yesterday!
This was also the first tme in all my 15 years here that I tried to ride my bike home with 3 bottles of milk in my basket.
It was much easier than I expected AND they held the bread, pastries, and flowers in place for me nicely as I bumped my way home.
My colorful irrigator friends across the river were very patient with me and my bike parking angst. I didn't lose my baguette in the process and even discovered some beautiful, delicate wild flowers that definitely had to come home with us.
Sometimes it pays to move slowly, be cautious, pay attention, and soak up everything around you in that moment!
My goodies and I made it home safely. I was back out on the terrace for a few photos and to have another coffee with my pain au chocolat.
Take a peek at those items that are on the table that came out of my basket from my sojourn: a bottle of milk, baguette, pain au chocolat, caroc pastry, and flowers?
Any guesses on what was most expensive and what was least expensive?
Happy Thursday!
