I was so happy to see the sunshine yesterday morning that I actually wrote SUNSHINE!!! in the middle of the page in my journal. It had been a run of cold, rainy, mistyish, no sunshiny days for a while, so I got out on my bike and did all the outside stuff that I needed to do.
Believe me...I had a list!
On my way home from the Intermarche, I had my camera and remembered these gorgeous yellow kissed treetops from other passes. This time it was time to stop.
The backdrop of the colorful hills made an even more beautiful pair!
Making it home at lunch time, I had some pumpkin that needed to be turned in to soup.
Evelyn and I ran into Andre and Genevieve at the weekend Armistice event. We talked "potiron"(pumpkin)-how hard it was to cut.
I said I needed a bigger and better "couteau"(knife). Andre suggested the "tronconneuse"-(chainsaw) and Evelyn confessed to using her "marteau"-(hammer) from time to time. On that note, Andre offered to bring more AND to cut them up in slices for us. What a great guy! That did mean though that I needed to get on the pumpkin soup making stick and I did.
The poubelle and glass bottle bin were also calling my name. After pumpkin soup and my call to Dad, I headed that way. I noticed our newest donkey was out and considered coming back for a photo, but surrendered that idea. Then, as I rounded that bend from the bottle bin, the gold reflecting on the river at that time of the afternoon was so much more brilliant and stunning than during the earlier noon return. I told myself: Just enjoy spectacular, Laury...you don't have to have a photo of it!
Well, spectacular followed me all of the way home.
What are you going to do when it's screaming your name from your across the river neighbors' land?
You park your bike as planned.
You go in. You get your camera and you SHOOT SPECTACULAR!
How can you resist when it's practically in your own front yard!
Happy Wednesday!
