Today is a national holiday in France, when we remember Armistace Day! It is also a chance for me to honor my Papa-Hubie Bohland who fought in France in WWI. I have some of his antique postcards from the Auvergne that are priceless, as well as some photos taken during that time.
On one of the postcards, he writes to my Nannie of the "narrow escape" he had there. He called her "Funny" and she called him "Her Hero!"
I will be wandering up to the monument here in Cadrieu for the ceremony. Loving my Nannie and Papa even more today, from France. Yes, we are very much a part of those to be honored and remembered.
Lest we forget...
Happy Saturday!
