When I made the decision to keep the rental car an extra couple of days so I had "weather flexibility," little did I know that there would be wonderful side benefits that I hadn't counted on.
Happily having no snow to contend with; I was able to take a leisurely pace back to New Orleans once more. Renting a car when I need one makes the most sense, but it has also made me realize just how much I do miss without one.
It's nice to be able to go to your friends and not always have them coming to you. It felt good to be able to return all those favors. This trip I was able to stop in Covington, have lunch there with Carol on Saturday while I stayed at Mahogany Oaks with Mike and Johh, and head out to New Orleans east on Sunday to have a wonderful dinner with Ron, Wilson and Alana.
One of the highlights for me was seeing Pepito again and getting to meet the newest addition to the Mancoske/Go family-Pancho. What a sweetie and a HUGE bundle of energy. I can now put the visual to Ron's story...seeing how Pancho ran down the SPCA hall and jumped into Ron's arms. He's no dummy. He's landed on his feet and charms the pants off of everyone he meets.
I was a happy girl. Not only did I get to have another evening of Q-time with friends, but I got a major doggie hugs and kisses fix. I know. Everyone looks at me like I'm insane when I kiss these critters, but I just can't resist.
Pancho and I say Happy Monday!
