Here I sit in New Orleans on February 28, 2018. trying to decide how to best celebrate the beginning of my blogging life. I thought about doing something on this morning's beautiful moon (whose photos I couldn't rersist), but why not begin at the beginning.
Today, I share with you the first two posts I wrote on February second and third of 2009-9 years and 3000 posts ago.
As with this snapshot of my life from then to now, my blogging style has changed as well. As I've posted other posts from the archives, I've adjusted them to look like what I do NOW. Today, you get posts #1 and #2 as is...pure and unadulterated.
HUGE MERCI to all of you for coming along on this journey with me.
Many of you would not be in my life had it not been for the blog. BLOGGING changed my life.
Happy Wednesday-Happy Post Number 3000-

2/3/2009-Today I want to share a photo with you of this magical place. I hope you enjoy it!
2/2/2009-Day One
Welcome to the first step on my quest into cyberspace where I have chosen this place to blend the loves of my professional social work life with the passions of my personal life: photrography; piano; and writing. Here, I hope to share my loves and passions with kindred spirits and honor those who have already chosen to come along with me on this journey.
As a 50-something year old American woman who is living in the Lot Valley in rural France with my dog Dali, cat Samedi, and our "WInkelmann" baby grand piano; I am striving to build a sweet, uncomplicated, financially comfortable life of quality that carries you gracefully into retirement without even knowing that you are there! I like to think of it as "living a luxurious life." I have chosed to have no car and no tele ision and find myself heating the 3-story "Chatette" this winter with meter-length logs in the cheminee and rolling gas and/or electric heaters when needed. Having lived in my home in New Orleans for 27 years before full time France almost three years ago, I coined the phrase that guides an on-going healing process called the "Katrina Effet"-"It's only stuff, it's not important, let go, laugh and keep moving." I am living life closer to the "source" and more in the moment...paying more attention to the weather, the seasons, the silence, the space and a very natural flow to life.
I am just getting started here, but plan to post on topics related to social work, France Life, Fabulous Friends, Creative Writing, Quotes, Photos and Special Projects.
Hey John-I should say that the Chatette is the smaller structure to the left of the Chateau in the center of the photo...living on the River and below the Chateau is a real treat! I'm taking it all one day at a time...Lots of Love, Laury
