This life after the fire can be strange and unusual. I still feel like I'm sorting through the rubble of my life for a second time. Fighting the mistral like winds on Saturday and wandering through chores and "stuff," I looked up from the terrace to spy this lone Eiffel Tower!
Before Hurricane Katrina, this lone Eiffel Tower was one of a gang that held my shower curtain up in New Orleans.
After the storm, the gang came here to hold up the shower curtain I'd made for the tiny bathroom on the first floor between the kitchen and piano. Over our sixteen years here, I'd been given lavender sachets and tied them between each Eiffel Tower. I was very close to having enough lavender sachets to fill each in between spot.
Obviously, one of the workmen hung it from this iron rod that extends out of the stone on to the terrace next to the horizontal evier window. Saturday was the first time I'd seen it hanging there. I smiled. It took a little work to get it down, but I did.
I attached it to my newly designated "work" overalls and just kept moving.
Once again, there is sweetness and kindness in these discoveries made by these workmen who are strangers in my home. It's as if they know that what might seem like some silly little thing to them, has meaning for me.
And, so it goes.
Happy Monday!
Hi Maggie-tried to send you an email to let you know what was up. Then I was traveling and it is difficult to blog when I don't know what connectivity will be and I'd rather focus on my friends! Plus, there was some kind of maintenance going on here that added to the difficulties-Hope you get this-Laury

Very FUN! And, you're so right about the small things. I try to pay attention. There is an energy there that's special and I often feel it as a sign that "oui" we are moving forward and everything is going to be okay again. Miss you and Love you-Lots of hugs to you and Bodil-Laury
