Yesterday morning's sparkly, dancing diamonds debut over the Lot did a lot to set the tone of my day. The view is different from all five of my windows that face the Lot RIver. I woke up and went to bed, still pinching myself that I am living here.
It was a full day of home, beauty and sweet discoveries. Also, prettying projects.
Part of the reason the Lot is so spectacular in front of the Chatette at the moment, is because with so much rain the lavoir is gushing and pulsing underground down to the river. It flows in just below us and pushes out beautiful concentric circles from the shore.
I had my usual petit dejeuner visitor yesterday, but he didn't hang around long enough for the hard work.
He knows just what to do.
He comes and sits right in front of the back door and says: "It's breakfast time!"
Sometimes he returns in the afternoon.
I was back and forth on the traintracks between the terrace and the barn, the wagon and the lavoir all day long.
I noticed something interesting tied to the lavoir with a piece of ribbon and just
hanging there.
I started to go scoop it up and take a peek, but didn't have the proper footware for the activity.
I have my ideas, but what do you think it might be? And, who might have put it there?
Flowering up continued on into the late afternoon.
I resurrected last year's parasol, but realize that the wagon is going to need some more tender loving care this season too!
It's going to take a lot more than gorgeous flowers to get us back on track with the wagon. Protection and pretty are both works in progress!
Sometimes, I can't get a true feel how everything looks until I get back to the Chatette and sit on the porch swing.
There's still a lot of work to be done, but I'd way we're on our way!
Happy Tuesday!
