One of the things that I do each evening before closing the Chatette up and going up to bed, is heading over to the wagon to take the red umbrella down for the night.
Coming back to the house up the traintracks on Monday evening, I could feel the color and the stillness around me and thought to myself...this could be a rainbow evening.
And, it was.
This is the most livingest in the moment place I've ever been in my life. It is easy here, but has never been so in New Orleans. Living in the moment means paying attention and being curious about all around you. I find I notice things that I would otherwise miss when I can be in the moment.
That's when I noticed the greeny green that surrounds us when we are about to have a rainbow over the Lot. It's as if everything is glowing.
As soon as I walked in the door, there it was...right out my center window on the Lot. It was so pretty.
I grabbed a few shots and then went upstairs. Each of my windows on the Lot and others on the side give completely different views. It's like having seven different paintings!
When I got upstairs I decided to call Evelyn to see if she'd seen it. She went to look and during that time a second had begun. Interestingly, she could see the second one more brilliantly than the one I first discovered, and we have only one house between the two of us! It makes me wonder what they are able to see on the Saujac side of the river.
There is magic in these moments! Can't you see the pot of gold at the base of this rainbow?
Happy Wednesday!
