Last summer, these delicate and very pretty tiny butterflies (or moths) began to appear at the Chatette. It began with one or two and then more. Pretty soon there were thousands of them taking over.
Not only did they chase all the other varieties of butterflies away, they ATE boxwoods. Look at my guy on the right! And, I had more.
Appreciation turned to Aggravation, that ended in devastation.
We were not alone.
The whole valley was infested. Everyone was losing their box. Apparently, these guys stowed away on a cargo of box that arrived in France from China. What a disaster! What to do?
I decided to have mine removed. Along with all of the de-jungling that is going on with Willie, we are "de-boxing" too. As he was cutting back, we discovered that this one was alive, but barely. I decided that it had to go.
Now, what to do with this open space? Just like with the Chatette, we are going to live with it a while and not rush into anything.
Happy Monday!
