...elbow grease were the order of the day yesterday. When I looked at the price of nice area rugs for in front of the fireplace that I wasn't even crazy about, I decided to bring this carpet up from the utility cave. I loved this carpet. It had been Dali's carpet under Monsieur Winkelmann. As you can see, it was a favorite spot of hers. Look at all that dog hair. Sam left a few presents too!
I'd surrendered and just put it away because it was so labor intensive. Ironically, it was stashed under a bed in the far bedroom and was saved from the fire and the decontamination crew.
These days, I have my "labor intensive system!"
Work-Read-Work-Read-Work!
My friend Joan had mentioned long ago that kitchen rubber gloves would get up the hair, I'd tried it then and it worked just as well now.
On my hands and knees with the help of Ollie and Opie, I went to work and read Hillary Clinton's "What Happened" during breaks.
It even matches the new poele au bois in the fireplace.
We are coming together nicely. As I've said before, taking my time and living in our space so I can feel it has really paid off. Stopping to read as I go, gives me time to feel each step. I sat in my chair and began Hillary's story. From there, I made some furniture rearrangement decisions too.
Figeac friends are coming tonight with a bottle of champagne. As instructed, I'll be making a number of "concoctions" to accompany the champagne. That, I can do. I had realized though, that I don't have any champagne glasses. So, I've borrowed three from Evelyn and the party goes on!
Happy Saturday!
It seems to work-I don't get overwhelmed with the too much to do of it, and I enjoy it more. I was pleased to see the International Overalls post for 2018-I don't know if I'll do anything here or not. Another take it as it comes for me. Are you easing back into home after the Paris trip? It sounded wonderful! Miss you and lots of love to you and Bodil-Me and the boys

sounds as a good daily strategy, work-read-work--, for me outdoor coffee planning meeting, almost no matter the weather, is essential to have a good day, and to keep calm and take one bit at a time ! love Niels
