On the way to Evelyn's one morning, I noticed that this lizard was actually impaled on the point of one of my yucca plants. It seemed to be proof of a point Evelyn makes to me from time to time, that yuccas are demon plants.
As much as I love yuccas for the flowers, prolific reproduction, and sometimes protection...
...they have their down sides too. They are dangerous to prune, hard to get rid of, and I'm sure have often stabbed our mail people since I had them around the mail box. All that has changed, and I'm about to get a stone enclosure for the mailbox and a stone little free library from my friend Andre, an artisan and true artist in stone in the village.
Since the impalement, the yuccas are beckoning me back. Look at us! Aren't we beautiful? And, they are.
Happy Friday!
