I'd planned all along to go into Cajarc in the morning for a few groceries. I figured that I'd make my run and come directly home to attack the garden and the outside again. Even though it was Sunday and we have NO GRASS CUTTING here on Sundays, there was still more than enough to do.
My goal was wood AND the rest of Sam's spot as well as weeding the rose garden on the terrace a bit.
BUT, I decided to take my time and treat myself to a Sunday morning in Cajarc. I hit the bank, Lagarde's, the Petit Casino, Roux's, the Presse, The President, and The Poste.
With a baguette, cookies and ham/cheese croissants from Lagarde's and two pain aux chocolats from Roux's, I decided to take my journal and have a coffee and a nibble. The PMU directly across from Roux's was full of bikers with no place to sit. The Pause was closed.
But, the President was open with a choice of inside or outside seating. I swung back around on my bike across the street to the Presse to see if there were any cards or items that caught my eye to write home since I was already in town.
A treasure found me at the Presse that made my day.
I scooped up 4 cards and headed over to the President to journal and write my notes.
I had stamps with me and know Dad's and Kat and Tom's addresses by heart, but Jim's card is going to have to wait till I get home and have his address at hand.
Leaving the President I realized I didn't know where my keys were. This is not unusual, but I still went back to each of my stops to see if anyone had found my keys.
When no one had, I tried to be calm. I went over to the front of the Mairie where there is a bench and a beautiful cross, with a view of St. Etienne. I began to dig in my backpack. Of course, there they were at the bottom of my big section that held all my groceries. I just didn't dig deep enough the first time. What a relief!
Back on my bike I had one more in town stop. I used to buy these wonderful garlic, herb roasted potatoes for special dinners when I was in the apartment in Cajarc. I returned to the Boucherie and scooped some up for a special Sunday evening dinner.
It was fun and I always learn something along the way.
Back on my bike home...I stopped for some of the gorgeous flowering trees and to take a cookie to Eveyln and have a little visit.
What a nice reward of a morning/afternoon for all my hard work AND finding my keys.
Of course, no WOOD got done.
But, I did weed the rose garden and the rest of Sam's resting place.
Happy Monday!
