During the aftermath of the fire here at the Chatette, I had to make choices about what to save and what not to save from what was left.
What I didn't realize was that some of the "decontamination crew" would make some decisions about what to save from what was left on their own. I had a red suitcase in the kitchen that was full of collectibles from the states.
Henry was in there.
Even from the suitcase, Henry was smokey. He wasn't nearly as bad a my smokey girls, Russian girl, Jackie Kennedy, Cathy and Buddy Lee; but he still needed some special attention once I found him. Earlier this year, I put him into the big buffet when company was coming. Searching through some papers, I found him and decided to go ahead with his bleach bath and spa the other day.
What I didn't count on was that his head would fill with water, so I took it off. Trying to put Henry back together yesterday, the head would not cooperate! I tried everything and finally went down to Evelyn's for a Henry Head Consultation.
Neither of us could figure out how to get his head back on as it was. I came home with all my pieces of Henry in my pockets.
I decided to make a slit up the back of Henry's Head.
Et voila!
I could get it back on AND it would rest just fine on the neck pedestal that was too big otherwise.
Other than losing a sock, and a red shirt that is now pink...Henry looks like his old self. He really is a cutie and there's a little more Henry story for another time!
Happy Monday!
