Any time I find myself going through photo files for friends, family or competitions; I always land on old favorite photos of Dali and Sam. My relationship with the two of them was different than any other 4-legged children I had had in my life.
I loved them all, but I realized that the three of us had a very special bond because we were together when I was working from home. They integrated into all areas of my life and attachments were strong.
We survived Hurricane Katrina by the hardest. We became "French Girls" together during 2006 and returned to the states together during 2012 when Dad fell and so I could work. Dali was getting older and I wanted us to be together.
How right I was.
By April of 2013, Sammie Cat and I lost our Dali. We grieved deeply.
Sammie Cat and I would travel back and forth to France together. How lucky were we when John and Mike fell in love with her, and she with them, so she would often stay with them whenever I had to travel.
We were lucky girls.
During 2017, Sammie Cat and I returned to Cadrieu to be more France. Heart-wrenchingly, I lost her to the fire here in November of 2017.
They were the best, and are never far away.
Now that I am here and a little more settled, my girl Lola has come into my life very much the way of Dali and Sam. This time, it's with a vengeance that only these pandemic times could bring. We are together all the time.
We are lucky girls!
Happy Tuesday
