I have always been someone who found comfort in my routines and also found ways to blend the people I love within them.
I had a group of friends that had breakfast together every Sunday morning.
I had another friend who I met for coffee every Friday morning at the Monteleone with our favorite waitress, Lucille.
And then, there was the Friday night after work Napoleon House gang. Most of them continued past Katrina, but for various reasons, none of them survived much longer than that.
From here in Cadrieu, it was less about routines and more about "events!" Village Fetes, Classical Music at Chateaux, Aperos at the Chatette whenever friends were here to visit, Vernissages, Quatorze Juillet, Holidays, and other village celebrations were all on the calendar or added. Most were annual or less, so maybe I can't really call them routines.
My visit to Les Fleurs de L'lle was an annual event for me here too!
It began with Jean and I going together. After Jean returned to Ipswich, Jane and I began going together.
Last year I wasn't here, so I'm hoping that this year's visit will get us back in the flow of at least annual visits once more.
I chuckle. Even as I write, I realize that there may be a spring trip planned to the states for 2022 for less than a month for sure. But, this last one was supposed to be 3, not 8.
We shall see!
I hope you've enjoyed all my goodies in progress so far.
Up next are the terrace hanging baskets and the barn window box that hangs on the doors with a big geranium.
The roses in the terrace rose garden are coming into their own.
Bit by bit we are feeling ourselves again and more complete.
We're surrounded!
Happy Sunday!
